An equal amount of matter and antimatter can simultaneously come into existence without breaking the law of conservation of matter (as 1+ -1 = 0). Antimatter is capable of converting into regular matter. If that happens, then there would be more matter than antimatter in the universe, and there would be matter left over even if all the remaining antimatter anihilates some matter.
